Reiner Rehoming Project
Reiner Rehoming Project (RRP) started after meeting Wrench, a 19 year old retired reiner who was in need of a new home. After a torn tendon ended his reining career, Wrench's owners were unable to keep him on in the barn so the hunt began to find him a new home. Going through the process I began to realize that there are many reining horses who find themselves in this situation: at the end of their reining career, still able to be used for atleast light riding, but have some special needs so are looking for the right forever home to enjoy their retirement in. Thus I began the Reiner Rehoming Project to help Wrench and others like him find life after reining. Wrench is a sweet 19 year old gelding who is looking for his forever home to enjoy retirement. Due to a bowed tendon with a double tear in 2015 Wrench is no longer able to be used for reining, but is still sound for light riding. Wrench is suitable for an experienced beginner rider or up, but requires an intermediate or up handler on the ground. He does have dietary and management restrictions due to being Insulin Resistant.
